Bloomington Police have arrested one of two suspects in a Friday night armed robbery at Schlotsky’s Deli on IAA Drive.

It happened just after 9:30 P.M. Two armed suspects reportedly entered the store, demanding money from an employee. Police say the suspects battered the employee and ran away from the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

When police arrived on scene, another Schlotsky’s employee was wrestling a suspect near the intersection of IAA and Rowe Drive. Officers took one suspect into custody and recovered a knife nearby. Both employees refused medical treatment, but the suspect was taken into custody.

After he was released from OSF Saint Joseph, 19-year-old Jalun Caddell of Ypslianti, Michigan, was arrested for armed robbery and taken to the McLean County Jail.

The second suspect is still on the loose. He’s described as a black male, approximately 25-30 years old. If you have any information, call Detective Dick at (309) 434-2475 or mdick@cityblm.org. You can also call McLean County Crime Stoppers at (309) 828-1111.
