Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat believes several school districts will struggle if a measure requiring teacher pay eventually reach $40,000 becomes state law. Senate Bill 2892 has passed the House and Senate and now awaits the governor’s signature.
“It’s an unfunded mandate, and a lot of districts will struggle,” said Kherat. “But our district is well positioned.”
Watch Kherat discuss the state-wide teacher shortage, summer feeding program and immunization registrations for the upcoming school year.
