The victims have been identified as:
- Taurean C. Sanderlin, 29, employee of the restaurant who was killed outside.
- Joe R. Perez, 20, was a restaurant patron who was killed while standing outside
- A 21-year-old woman was killed inside the restaurant
- Akilah Dasilva, 23, was critically wounded inside the restaurant and later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center
In addition to those victims, 21-year-old Shanita Waggoner and 24-year-old Sharita Henderson were both injured and are being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Update 11am- A WMBD crew at Reinking’s listed home in Morton say FBI agents have arrived on the scene. Local authorities say they have yet to be contacted to participate in the investigation.
Three people were killed and four others were wounded in a shooting at a Waffle House in Tennessee early Sunday, according to police.
“A patron wrestled away the gunman’s rifle. He was nude & fled on foot. He is a white man with short hair,” authorities tweeted.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department identified a “person of interest” in the shooting as Travis Reinking, 29, of Morton, Illinois.
“Vehicle the gunman arrived in is registered to him,” police tweeted. “Gunman last seen walking south on Murfreesboro Pike. He shed is coat and is nude. See Reinking? Pls call 615-862-8600 immediately.”
Police said the shooting took place at the Waffle House located at 3571 Murfreesboro Pike, in Antioch.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center officials said they received three patients from the shooting, CBS affiliate WTVF reports. One person was considered stable but critical, and two others were in critical condition.
A search of Tazewell County court records found only traffic tickets on Reinking’s record. Nothing has been filed against him in Peoria County.
UPDATE: At this time Tazewell County and Morton Police say they haven’t been contacted to be assist Nashville Police in this investigation currently.
