MORTON, Ill. — The Morton School District is focusing on security at its buildings, and ways to improve it.

The Peoria Journal Star reports the board approved the hiring of Facility Engineering Associates to study the security.

The district will pay FEA nearly $18,000 for the work, which will start in a few weeks. The district will receive a report on the needed security measures a few weeks after the study.

Morton Superintendent Jeff Hill refused to comment on the study.
