Local News

The Morton School District starts the new year with a new superintendent and some new ideas.

Dr. Jeff Hill is settling into his new role. He says the district is celebrating the completion of several building projects, including a gym and more classroom space at 3 of its elementary schools.

The district is also entering the fourth year of its iPad initiative to integrate technology in the classroom.

A new principal joins Morton High School as well as 28 new faculty members.

“Now is a really good time for us to take a deep breath and take a look at where we’re at, how we’re doing academically, what kinds of things that we might want to put in place to help our kids achieve at higher levels. Also, really take stock of what we have done and start to chart a direction forward.” Dr. Hill says.

Dr. Hill served as superintendent of laboratory schools at Illinois State University.
