MORTON, Il. - In Morton, officials are trying to put a stop to recent vandalism.
Morton's Memorial Plaza is a free gathering spot that's been getting vandalized. The village recently got a nearly $5,000 grant from the Morton Community Foundation to put in a set of security cameras. Four cameras will get video footage of all corners of the plaza.
"I have a little pride in the project because I oversee it, and I treat it kind of like my own yard," said Brad Marks, Morton Construction Inspector. "I'd like for it to stay nice. I think it's a nice asset to the village."
Marks hopes the cameras will hold the vandals accountable for the damage they cause.
