PEORIA, Ill. -- A winter that does not want to loosen its grip on Central Illinois has carried over into spring.
Several inches of snow has fallen across the area Sunday morning. Four inches of snow has been measured in many areas including Peoria, Washington and Mossville. Earlier in the morning over two inches was reported in McLean County.
The Illinois Department of Transportation is reporting most Interstates in Central Illinois are mostly snow covered. The snow is expected to end in the early afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4pm.
Luckily, the heavy, wet snow won't stick around for long. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-50's Monday and back into the 70's on Tuesday.
