BRIMFIELD, Ill. — A Peoria man has been identified as the person who died in a crash Friday morning. 70 year old Michael D. Bricker, of Knollwood Court in Peoria, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about 9:15 a.m. Friday, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.

The head-on collision occurred at the intersection of 10900 N. Princeville-Jubilee Road just north of Grange Hall Road in Brimfield.

A majority of the intersection was closed. According to witnesses, one driver apparently crossed the center line into the opposite lane of traffic, and struck the other head on. The woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. She received tickets for reckless driving and improper lane usage.

Harwood said autopsy results show the Bricker suffered severe blunt force trauma injuries, and likely died instantly. He was wearing his seat belt.

Harwood said the investigation is still ongoing. The Dunlap Fire Department and Peoria County Sheriff’s Office were also on the scene.
