The federal government’s one trillion dollar omnibus package will include protection for marijuana users.

A congressional spending bill would include an extension of a policy blocking the Department Of Justice from using federal money to interfere with states’ medical marijuana laws. This would further clarify the future of pot for patients in Illinois and the businesses supporting them.

Recreational use of pot is legal in eight states including the District Of Columbia.

Illinois is one of twenty-eight states legalizing medical marijuana.
