Neighbors enjoyed lots of food, for low prices, all at one place.
The 38th annual Taste of Peoria kicked off Wednesday night at its new location, Northwoods Mall. Several area restaurants and food trucks participated in the taste fest, offering specialty food samples for only $1-$3.
The event, by Peoria Area Community Events (PACE) and Sunbelt Rentals, had a $2 per person admission and featured several vendors and music. Casa De Arte, Pizza Ranch, Table 19 and over 20 other vendors are present.
Due to the construction under the Murray Baker Bridge, the Taste of Peoria moved to the parking lot behind JCPenney at the mall. Neighbors said they like the new location and that it’s a great event with delicious food.
“It brings communities together it’s awesome to look around and I think there’s 30-32 vendors and it’s just a great sense of community,” Pizza Ranch employee Kimberly Sherman said.
Over 70 different food items were available.
“This is a wonderful event for the community gets everybody out on a beautiful day, everybody can get out and enjoy all the food vendors and just you know have a joyful time, it’s an awesome event,” Taste of Peoria judge Briggett Carter said.
