Going back to school is a celebratory moment for parents, exciting for young kids, and maybe even a little nerveracking for teens, and a local organization is doing what they can to help make that transition smooth.
For the 9th year in a row, New Beginnings Worship Center along with local businesses, are helping kids get ready for school.
The effort offered free physicals and dental exams, book bags and school supplies giveaways, fun activities and plenty more.
Organizers say it’s a great way to give back to their community.
Quinton Brown is the Pastor of New Beginnings Worship Center. He says, “We service the major part of the South Side location and many of the people are under privileged and underserved, so we decided every year to make this free to everybody. We’ve got a lot of great sponsors that sponsor everything and make it easy for everybody to come here and get these services.”
This event helps under-privileged children get ready for school in a wonderful day of fun.
