New Peoria Public Library Director

PEORIA, Ill. - The Peoria Public Library Has a new Executive Director.
 
The Board of Trustees voted to hire Randall Yelverton for the job. He will assume his new duties on July 2 as Leann Johnson, current Executive Director, retires.
 
Mr. Yelverton has served as the Director of Washington District Library in Washington, Illinois since 2012, serving as Assistant Director for a year before that. He holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a B.A. in English from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. 
 
Leann Johnson, The current Executive Director has served the library since 2013. He announced his retirement back in May.
 
Edward Barry, President of the Library Board of Trustees said, "The Peoria Public Library is honored to have Mr. Randall Yelverton join our terrific team, as our new Executive Director.  In addition to his excellent formal credentials, we are delighted that he and his family are already active patrons of the Peoria Public Library. While he may have big shoes to fill, given the many years of outstanding service, talent, and leadership of our retiring Executive Director Leann Johnson, we have every confidence that Mr. Yelverton will be a wonderful addition to our Peoria Public Library family."
