Bloomington residents will soon see wayfinding signs around town. Monday night leaders voted to enhance the city’s appearance.
In an unanimous decision the council decided to put up 34 new signs around Bloomington.
This will cost the city a little more than half-a-million dollars but leaders say the new signage is part of the their way to help make the business district stand out and show off what Bloomington has to offer.
In addition to signs residents can expect to see arched gateways and LED lights.
“Our dowtwon Bloomington is such a unique and historic area that we are trying to find the best way we can to market and show off this area,” said Director of Public Works, Jim Karch.
At this point there is no word on when all the signs will be put up but leaders say they are shooting end of this year’s construction season.
