Normal Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated DUI, Reckless Homicide

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. – A man from Normal has pleaded guilty to several charges in connection to the death of pregnant woman last fall.

28-year-old Lance Pitsch entered the guilty plea in Christian County court in Taylorville Wednesday for Aggravated DUI resulting in an accidental death and causing bodily harm and Reckless Homicide of an unborn child. Pitsch was northbound on Illinois 48 last October when he veered into the southbound lanes and hit another vehicle. Jessica Tyson Ragan and her fiancée were in the vehicle Pitsch struck. Ragan and her unborn child died as a result of the crash.

As part of the guilty plea, two other aggravated DUI charges were dismissed. Pitsch is scheduled to be sentenced August 29.
