PEORIA, IL - WMBD is now learning one of the officers who shot and killed Eddie Russell Jr. last month was also involved in another police-involved shooting.
Officer Sean Johnston was involved in a deadly shooting back on November 1st, 2008.
According to the Peoria Journal Star, police were searching for the man who shot a patrol car with an AK-47. When police found the suspect, Demeteric Mobley, he started shooting at them. Officers shot back at Mobley and killed him.
Last month Russell reportedly held a bank at gunpoint. Police fired 18 times at Russell after a police standoff, eventually killing him.
Johnston and 5 other officers involved in the shooting are all on administrative leave.
