UPDATE (9:45 p.m.) — A boy has been pronounced dead after a stabbing near Hanssler Place and Bootz Avenue in Peoria Monday afternoon.
According to a Peoria Police press release, the boy was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The victim was located with a stab wound after police responded to a report of a group of individuals fighting. The victim was transported to the hospital by AMT.
Information on the victim and the cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
19-year-old Damony N. Thompson was identified as a suspect and was arrested for first-degree murder.
Thompson has been transported to the Peoria County Jail.
Another juvenile suspect was arrested for two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of mob action with an injury, and criminal damage to property. The juvenile was sent to the Juvenile Detention Center.
This incident remains under investigation.

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A boy has been hospitalized after being found stabbed in a house near Hanssler Place and Bootz Avenue in Peoria Monday afternoon.
Peoria Police responded to the stabbing Monday afternoon, according to Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria.
After arriving at the house, police found a boy who had been stabbed. The boy was taken to the hospital, Echevarria confirmed.
Multiple people are currently in custody.
Echevarria said that the stabbing did not happen at Quest Academy. WMBD has reached out to Quest for comment, but they have not responded yet.
