One victim, three dogs rescued during house fire

PEORIA, Ill.– One victim and three dogs were rescued from a house fire Friday night.

At approximately 11:10 p.m., Peoria Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 2218 W. Lincoln Ave. Upon arrival, crews found a large dog in the basement standing over a resident.

The victim was later transported to a local hospital for injuries. After a final investigation of the home, crews rescued two other dogs.

The three dogs were released to a family member.

The estimated damage due to the fire is $15,000. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
