A local university crime advisory leaves students and loved ones on edge.

Illinois State University police released a crime advisory last week, informing students and staff about two cases linked to Tinder; one involving sexual assault, and the other, revenge porn. No arrests have been made in either case. The assault happened just down the street from one student’s apartment, and it’s left her boyfriend concerned for her safety.

“She’s a tiny girl so she’s definitely not capable of defending herself against someone who’s twice her size, if they were to break in, or you know, she’s walking back from class late, or trying to get a bite to eat down the street or something,” said Jesse Tomaras, whose girlfriend attends ISU.

Tomaras said he is glad ISU police survey campus constantly.
