Tuesday Peoria city council members discussed a possible change in the city’s noise ordinance.
Currently businesses in the city’s riverfront district are allowed to have live bands and loud music until 10pm.
This proposed change would extend the noise for an extra hour. This would also allow businesses in the city’s commercial district to have bands and music as well.
Council members say several restaurants have approached wanting more opportunities for live music.
Peoria city manager Patrick Urich said, “There have been some places that have been looking to have more live music that might be outdoors this would allow for an additionally hour of time and still be done by 11pm.”
Tonight council members just discussed the proposed change, they expect to make a final decision within the upcoming weeks.
