Peoria firefighters are trying to figure out what caused a house fire in the area of West Brighton Avenue.
Firefighters responded to a report of smoke in a building. When crews arrived on the scene they found that a resident had returned home to find the main floor of his home with substantial fire damage.
The owner said he had been gone overnight and all of the windows and doors were closed and locked. Firefighters went through the area and found no victims.
The estimated damage is at $95,000.
The fire is still under investigation.
