Peoria homicide investigation, neighborhood canvas scheduled for Monday

The Peoria Police Department are searching for answers regarding a June 23 homicide.

Peoria police responded to the 2700 block of West Trewyn Sunday, June 23 at approximately 10:49 p.m. regarding reports of multiple shots fired.

Two ShotSpotter alerts were received that night.

Upon arrival, officers said they located 34-year-old Brownzel Howard inside of an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Howard was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.

Members of the PPD, CrimeStoppers and Peoria Community Against Violence will conduct a neighborhood canvas in the area of Harrison Homes Monday at 11 a.m. seeking anyone with information regarding the homicide of Howard.
