Peoria man arrested on hate crime charge

Local News

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible Hate Crime.

Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell says around 9:50 Saturday morning police were called to the Mini Storage Units on Farmington Road.

The victim says Jack Anderson pulled into the business behind her car and started calling her racial slurs.

She says Anderson then got out of his car, walked toward her and started threatening her with a knife.

She claims he threatened her life using racial slurs.

Sheriff Asbell says the victim reported defusing the situation with a brick.

Anderson now faces Aggravated Assault and Hate Crime Charges.

In 2012 he was also charged with a Hate Crime and Aggravated Assault.
