A Peoria man could spend up to 14-years behind bars for allegedly failing to properly care for his elderly father.

Mark Runyon has been charged with a single count of criminal neglect of an elderly person.

Earlier this month, his 74-year old father, Frank Runyon, was taken to the hospital with injuries to his face and bleeding from the brain.

He later died from his injuries.

His son now remains in the Peoria County Jail until his arraignment tomorrow.
