Peoria, the birthplace of March Madness, is getting in on a different kind of a madness at City Hall.
The River City is in the second round of the nationwide ELGL City Halls Challenge. It is an online bracket-style competition that pits city halls against each other. Winners are decided based on what building can get more votes.
Normal is also in the competition.
Thirty-two cities remain, and right now, Peoria is up against Kansas City. Meanwhile Normal faces Birmingham, Michigan.
The big reward? Bragging rights.
“We know how lovely it is. We treasure walking into these halls every single day, so it would really resonate if people all across the nation could recognize and see the beauty,” said Stacy Peterson, City of Peoria Spokesperson.
