Peoria Police Respond to Third Weekend Shooting

A 22-year-old man may not recover from injuries suffered in an early morning shooting.  

Peoria police were called to the area of Grisworld and Grinnell just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday on a Shot Spotter alert. Officers found the 22-year-old man on the 2400 block of West Grinnell.

The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating and haven’t released any other information.

This incident is the third shooting in Peoria this weekend. Three other men were shot early Saturday morning; one of them had life-threatening injuries.

Later in the day, a man and woman were sent to the hospital after they were cut by glass, stemming from a shooting.
