Peoria Public Schools District 150 held a another job fair to address its employee shortage Thursday.
This fair was for certified teachers, May graduates waiting for their certifications, teachers aides, substitutes and bus drivers.
Candidates were able to apply in person right before meeting one on one, in another room, with principals and hiring staff.
“We are also looking for applicants that are wanting to work with students and want to be a part of a team and be able to come and make a difference in the lives of a young person. Not necessarily teachers but anyone,” said Jeannine Williams, Human Resources Recruiter for Peoria Public School District.
Some of those who attended and applied for teacher employment had the opportunity to be invited to schools for a more in-depth interview. Some were hired on the spot.
