A popular race track hit hard by flood last week — will reopen faster than expected.
Less than a week ago, Peoria Speedway was fully underwater due to flooding in Peoria County. Monday, owner Jason Plummer said the track is almost ready to race.
Peoria Speedway was arguably the worst hit by massive flooding throughout central Illinois. Plummer originally anticipated more than two weeks for clean-up efforts.
He credits staff and countless volunteers for the quick turn around and he is anxious to get racing again.
