Peoria woman arrested with more than 38 pounds of cannabis in her car

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ill. — A Peoria woman was arrested after an Illinois State Trooper seized more than 38 pounds of cannabis from her.

Thursday, a District 6 Illinois State Trooper stopped a car for a traffic violation. During the stop, the trooper smelled the cannabis.

Ultimately, 45-year-old Anita L. Williams was arrested for cannabis trafficking, delivery of cannabis over 5,000 grams, and possession of cannabis over 5,000 grams. Williams was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Williams has been incarcerated in the Livingston County Jail and faces charges in the county.
