Over the past 24 years, it’s clear Eric Turner made an impact in the community.
Thursday night residents, leaders and even state lawmakers were all in attendance celebrating Turner. Rep. Ryan Spain (R-Peoria) and Senators Chuck Weaver (R-Peoria) and Dave Koehler (D-Peoria) presented Turner with a proclamation.
Turner’s colleagues also came to support him.
Other than spending years on city council, Turner served overseas, and worked for Caterpillar. Councilman Turner says its been an honor to serve his community.
“I’ve had some successes, I’ve had a couple of failures, but I’m just happy to have served this community,” said Turner. “This city means so much to me, this is where I grew up, went to high school, and I love it.”
Turner said he plans to serve on a couple local boards, but overall he plans to relax.
