Students at Pekin Community High School have been spending their nights, making their way through Tazewell County playing a game that involves shooting other players with Nerf guns.

Monday night, Deputy Chief Jeff Lower found out about the game when the department was dispatched to a local neighborhood. A resident reported a disturbance involving a possible weapon.

Lower took to facebook to explain what happened — and to warn others about what’s going on.

This call took place in a quiet neighborhood at approximately 7:30 PM, the students arrived in four vehicles attempting to ambush another player. Although innocent, this action put several lives in danger. From the deputies responding to a call of a possible gun, to the high school student running through someones property in the dark with something reported to be a gun.”

Lower hopes the kids continue to play the game but do so in a controlled safe environment.
