Police in Normal are investigating an overnight shooting that left one person injured.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Lincoln Square Apartments in the 1700 block of North School Street.

Officers arrived on the scene and located witnesses who indicated that gunfire erupted outside of an apartment. They also said they saw a man, in dark clothing, fleeing the area on foot to a light-colored vehicle west of the apartment complex.

About a half hour later, staff at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center called police to tell them that a man came in with a gunshot wound to his upper body. When police arrived, a 26 year-old male reported to police that he was shot once at an address in North Normal. The injuries do not seem life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.
