Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate JB Pritzker made his final pre-election day appearance in Peoria Monday night.
A host of democrats lined behind Pritzker during his voting rally. Juliana Stratton, the candidate’s running mate, along with Attorney General nominee Kwame Raoul, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, and Senator Dick Durbin were some of the many politicians speaking at Monday’s rally.
Each lawmaker made it clear that they believe a change needs to happen in Springfield. The goal of Monday’s rally was to draw Peorian voters to the polls in droves, hoping they’ll vote democrat from the top of the ticket to the bottom.
Bustos, presently running for another term to represent Illinois’ 17th Congressional District said, “There are three major things democrats are advocating once we get in office,” Bustos said. “If America puts the faith back in us [democrats] we will work to bring down the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs, rebuild our country, pass a trillion dollar transportation package and we’ll clean up the mess in Washington.” Bustos added that her belief that democrats can regain control of the house.
The crowd erupted in applause as Pritzker took the stage. The democrat spoke on his goals to change the state of Illinois and move it in a different direction that what he says his opponent Governor Bruce Rauner has taken it. “We are so excited about the people who have shown up here in Peoria and all across the state today,” said Pritzker. “Residents are excited about us putting Springback back on the side of working families.”
Earlier Monday Pritzker held voter rallies in Moline and Rock Island as well.
