Program for breast cancer survivors forms lifelong friendships

Local News

Peoria, IL. – ROW Peoria is helping breast cancer survivors create friendships during recovery.

Recovery on Water (R.O.W.) is a rowing team encouraging survivors to become active through excercise.

The new group is a non-profit so leaders are asking the community to pitch in.

A fundraiser is being held at Pour Bros in Peoria Heights to help purchase equipment.

Twenty percent of all sales will go the program. The event is Saturday from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m.

ROW Peoria President Kassie Williams said her main goal for the program is to encourage women to stay motivated through their recovery.
