Recovery, education, advocacy, community and health or otherwise known as “reach.”

More than 50 different organizations will help you and your family reach for help.

“The Peoria Fire Department will be on hand to provide narcan training, CPR training,” says Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell. “We’ll be having a prescription drug take back program so anyone who needs to discard of prescription drugs. We’ll have the ability to do through that day too.”

Whether an individual is currently struggling with addiction, in recovery, or has a loved one who has been affected by this national epidemic, Peoria is offering a way for you to “reach” a solution.

“This is an event for friends or family members of someone that has an addition to learn more or this is for someone who is dealing with grief from losing someone to these tragedies that we’re seeing too frequently,” says the sheriff.

The free event is Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center from 9am to 4pm and will feature keynote speaker Tim Ryan, from A&E’s “Dope Man.”
