Secretary of State Jesse White is teaming up with several other state lawmakers to introduce new legislation to require 3-point seatbelts on school buses.

Those types cover across the chest, waist, and shoulder areas and are said to better protect children compared to the 2-point versions that buckle across the lap.

6 states including Florida and California have passed laws requiring seat belts in school buses.
