Today marks the 2 year anniversary of the tragic shooting at the Orlando nightclub Pulse. Community members gathered at The Bistro in Bloomington earlier today to mourn the lives of the 49 Americans whose lives were tragically taken.
The Bistro hosted a memorial to send their condolences to the families of the victims.
“I wish we were not gathered for this reason,” said Cristo Ortiz-Palafox, committee organizer for the LGBTQ organization. “But you know when tragedy hits we have to come together we have to remind ourselves that we are together in this.”
The event went from 6-8 and was filled with love. Organizers say they’re glad those in the community came out to support them as they honor their fallen brothers and sisters.
