A Rantoul man is sitting in jail for delivering illegal drugs and for a drug-induced homicide in Bloomington.
The investigation began on March 23, when Bloomington Police worked with the Champaign Street Crimes Task Force to arrest 24 year-old Troy McBride during a traffic stop in Urbana. Officers recovered heroin/fentanyl and crack cocaine as evidence.
On Friday, June 8, McBride was indicted by the Statewide Grand Jury for drug-induced homicide as well as six counts related to manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
On Wednesday, June 13, he was arrested again in the 200 block of North Vine Street, in Urbana, after Bloomington Police and the Champaign Street Crimes Task Force received help from the McLean County States Attorney’s Office. He was arrested for drug-induced homicide and for the delivery of cocaine.
McBride was transported from Champaign County Jail to the McLean County Jail.
