Seven people die in home fires every day. The American Red Cross hopes to bring that number down and keep your family safe.

On September 30th, the Red Cross will team up with the Peoria Fire Department, voluntters, and other partners to sound the alarm, installing 700 free smoke alarms in Peoria.

Volunteers will also help families create fire escape plans, so everyone knows two ways to escape in under two minutes.

There will be a Sound the Alarm event in Bloomington-Normal September 23rd.
