CANTON, Ill. – ALDI hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday morning to celebrate the reopening of its Canton store.

ALDI held a golden ticket giveaway at the event. Employees gave gift cards to the first 100 customers, and gave shoppers the chance to win a year’s supply of produce.

The 5th Ave ALDI in Canton was remodeled as part of the $8 million investment to stores in the Peoria area. The renovations to the stores layout include an expanded refrigeration space, more natural lighting and environmentally friendly building material.

ALDI plans for the renovations to accommodate the fresh, healthy and convenient products their customers want.

” Expanding our fresh product selection is just one of the ways we’ve improved the grocery shopping experience at ALDI and we’re excited to introduce this to our shoppers in Canton,” Heather Moore, Dwight division vice president for ALDI said.

ALDI has invested $1.9 billion to expand and remodel 1,300 stores nation wide by 2020.
