Normal, Ill. – Normal Mayor Chris Koos says Cox Automotive is investing $350 million in Rivian.

This comes after a $500 million dollar investment from Ford and a $700 million dollar investment from Amazon.

Forbes also confirmed the news Tuesday.

In 2017 Rivian bought the former Mitsubishi Motors in Normal. Company officials in 2020 plan to use the plant to make all of Rivians all-electric pickups and SUVs.

The company currently has several dozen employees but hopes to have a staff of 1,000 by 2024.
