Illinois State Police are working to identify who threw a bowling ball sized rock off an overpass in Logan County.
Our newspartner WJBC Radio reports the rock, which weighed nearly 10 pounds, was thrown off an Interstate 55 overpass, smashing the roof of a car and nearly hitting the two people inside.
Police have since issued a warning, saying punishment for the incident could include felony charges and incarceration.
“No one has the right to endanger others by committing senseless acts such as throwing items from overpasses,” ISP District 9 Commander Chris Owen said.
