Rodriguez was taken into ICE custody after posting bail this past weekend

Local News

MCLEAN COUNTY, Ill. — A Honduras man living in McLean County has officially been taken into custody by Immigration Customs and Enforcement.

Jose Rodriguez was accused of killing a Normal man in a fatal hit-and-run crash two months ago.

Last week a McLean County judge reduced his bond from $1 million dollars down to $100,000, but according to the McLean County States Attorney’s Office, at that time Rodriguez had a warrant for his arrest by Homeland Security.

This past weekend Rodriguez posted bond but was met by ICE agents who arrested him at the McLean County Jail.

His next court appearance was supposed to be on August 16, but according to states attorney Don Knapp, the status of his criminal case is now uncertain.
