Salvation Army is in need of fans

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Salvation Army of McLean County is doing their annual fan drive and is asking for people to donate any fans they have. With summer approaching faster than expected the less fortunate in our community need our help to keep cool.

"It may seem like a fan is not that expensive but for a family who is struggling to put food on the table its not just something that they can buy when it gets hot," says Angie Bubon, Development Director of Salvation Army McLean County. "We are hoping the community will step up and donate either a new or gently used fan."

The Salvation Army says if you want to get involved but do not have any fans you can donate money. Any and all money donated will be used to buy fans.

They will be accepting donations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 611 W. Washington St. Bloomington.

Fan distribution will begin at 9 a.m. on June 11 at the community center.
