Peoria, Ill. - State Sen. Dave Koehler (D-Peoria) is staying true to his preachings of solar energy by installing the panels on his property.
Koehler was instrumental in the passage of the Future Energy Jobs Act, which brought a new solar renewable energy credit incentive program to the state.
To further support his belief in the future of renewable energy in Illinois, the senator contacted Hawk Energy Solutions to begin a plan and used a Central Illinois business, Ruyle Mechanical Services to do the installation.
"This is very doable," said Koehler. "We've got companies that are ready to do this. We've got people that are trained to do the work. The technology is there. The know-how is there. And you know, we're going to see an explosion of solar in Illinois next year. We've already seen it start to happen."
Information about installing a solar PV system in Illinois can be obtained through the Illinois Solar Energy Association.
