BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Sheridan Elementary School held its 29th annual back to school parade Friday morning.
“Champions Under Construction” was this year’s theme. It was a way to teach kids about continuous growth and improvement.
The parade has become a tradition for family members, students, and teachers as a way to inspire the kids for the rest of the year.
“We do this every year!” said Jenifer Mcgowan, Principal of Sheridan Elementary. “It has been going on for a very long time. It’s a great opportunity to put our community in with our students and families and feel that support… just that family feel.”
“It was actually really fun – I got to see some of the people I know. I got to wave a lot, it just made me really happy!” said Sasha Randle, a student at Sheridan Elementary.
Students participated in learning and team building exercises to cap off their fun Friday.
