Boy in critical condition after shooting on Sheridan Road Monday afternoon

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Sheridan Road has been blocked off from McClure to Nowland Ave. for a police investigation.

The disturbance was in front of 2400 Sheridan Road just after 2:34 p.m. where a shot spotter indicated 12 rounds were fired.

A boy was injured and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to Peoria Police Department Information Officer Semone Roth.

Those present at the time told WMBD someone ran onto the lawn, shot the victim then ran away.

The Criminal Investigations Division and Special Investigations Division launched an investigation into the shooting. At this time, police have not released any suspect information.
