PEORIA COUNTY - The Peoria County Sheriff's office is alerting citizens of a current telephone scam that has recently restarted.
Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said residents are receiving phone calls that state they have criminal allegations against them, specifically warrants, and are requesting money to resolve the issue.
The sheriff's office said these calls are scams, and that they will never call anybody to collect money over the phone.
