Shots Fired Near Gas Station in Peoria

Local News

Several shots are fired near a gas station in Peoria Tuesday evening.

Police responded to the intersection of Sheridan and McClure just after 5:30. Officers wouldn’t tell our crew on scene how many shots were fired, but did tell people in the area that nobody was injured.

Several evidence markers were on the ground in the alley behind the gas station.

Police are still investigating.

This is just one of several shootings to happen in Peoria over the Memorial Day weekend.

A woman was hospitalized after being shot Monday night at the intersection of Indiana and Nebraska.  22-year-old Deaunte Banks was shot and killed Sunday night in the 700 block of Kansas.

Another person was shot in the leg in the 900 block of Hurlburt. Multiple cars have been hit by gunfire.

Police would not comment on these shootings other than saying: “we are experiencing an uptick in shots fired and general crime right now”.
