PEORIA, Ill. — A downtown Peoria business is receiving the first-ever Tri-County Green Hero Award.
The award goes to businesses in central Illinois that are finding ways to increase efforts in recycling, compost, food recovery, and local sourcing.
The Sous Chef is a specialty grocery store in the Warehouse District. It features farmers and vendors all by maintaining the mission of staying local, and they’re excited to be recognized for the first award.
“We are very honored,” said Katie Couri Rodolfi, owner of Sous Chef. “We are gonna do all that we can to continue this work and expand upon it and continue to be as green as we can.”
The grocery store first opened just under a year ago.
