Special gifts needed to help kids in the hospital

Local News

A special gift of comfort is coming for kids staying at a local hospital.

Ten years ago Taylor Larson started Cuddles for Kids. Now a decade later her mission continues, with the goal to collect 3,000 stuffed animals with the tags still attached.

Larson believes the new teddy bears will bring hope to kids at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois who might be hurting or scared.

“For those kids that have been in the hospital for weeks on end, they’re still kids too, they still need that bit of childhood that every kid should get,” said Larson. She adds, “As these kids are getting shots it can be scary, to have something to hold on to can give them a little bit of comfort.

The organization is teaming up with 97.3 and Bob Lindsay Acura to collect stuffed animals.

A full list of drop off locations can be found on Cuddles for Kids website. All bears need to be turned in by Feb. 8.
